Just wondering if anyone here knows anything about when this tire is actually coming out?

I don't think anyone really knows, but if I told you what I know, I'd have to kill you.Big Smile

Suffice it to say, it won't be in time for AtwaterCrying

    I don't know how official this is but I was on Hoosier's website and they have the 275/35/15 listed on the A6/R6 spec sheet here;

but not on the price list yet.(?)

It'll be interesting to see what size wheels (assuming 15x11max) and backspacing/ offset everyone will be running.....

    15" x 10" with 6" & 6.25" backspace here.

BTW - the latest from Hoosier is that the first production run of these tires is supposed to happen this week.  I'll be surprised if I see a set of tires before the end of the month.

What tires are you running on those wheels currently?

Nothing - I'm waiting for the 275/35-15's to show up.

I ran 22x10-16 Hoosier bias-ply slicks last year on different wheels.

p.s.  If the 275/35-15 A6's prove to be deficient, the plan is to move to 23x9.5R-15 radial slicks, which use the same 10" wide wheels.

FWIW, TireRack now has the 275/35/15 A6 listed for $237. Estimated availability is 04/25/07

    Re: 10" wide 15" Hoosier

I just got off the phone with Tom Reichel, and he's shipping a set of 275/35-15's out to me today. Cool

I think the first batch was pretty small, so it may be a couple weeks before production ramps up.

    Re: 10" wide 15" Hoosier

Hey, first post here guys.  I got a miata and looking into getting these Hoosiers for an autox and track tire down the road.  Main question is wheel size, looking at Diamond Racing rims.  I had originally been thinking a 15x9 would be enough, but sounds like everyone else is thinking wider .. 15x10 instead?  I also have no problem cutting the fenders to fit flares, but i was still worried they would rub.  Looking forward to seeing how your setup works out for you MNbiker

You're probably better off watching how these tires work out for Bill Schenker, as he has to live within the Street Prepared allowances - which means no touching the inner fenders.  My car, however - no longer bears much resemblance to a street car, and was running racing slicks of approximately the same size last year.  I am rather curious to see how the 275mm A6's perform, in comparison to the 22x10.0-16 slicks.

    Re: 10" wide 15" Hoosier

My inner fenders and suspension are still stock too (although I'm in XP too so they may not stay that way for long) and I should have a set of these tires arriving shortly (although I didn't get a call from Tom, so maybe I didn't make the first batch?). Anyway,\ there will surely be lots of info on fitment up here and miata.net soon. At this point I would hold off on the wheel orders until you hear from the first people to put the tires on the car; both width and offset/backspace will be critical to fit inside the tight miata inner fenders.

Also FYI: the 15x10 diamonds are not 18ish pounds as their website suggests, they are over 23 pounds each. I know because I just got some and put them on a scale... ouch.

Yep, my digital scale says 22.8 lbs for the set I received.
(shouldn't be too much danger of bending those bad boys!)

I'm much more interested in confirming the 14.02 lbs Bill reported for the Bogarts.  My set is supposed to ship out by Monday.  Party!!!

Yes!  I'd like you to confirm that too.  I tried 3 different U.S. Post scales, but I was surprised by the results.  As a side note, Hoosier Tom thought that the 275s wiegh ~19lbs.; if true, that might mean that they're only 3lbs. more than my 13s!?

For reference, my 17x11 Bogarts weighed in the 16.xx range.  I think my 17x12's were closer to 18-19, but they had a thicker center due to my backspace requirements.  Bottom line, the Bogarts are very light, and built well.

A set of tires just showed up on my doorstep.  My  scale says they weight 19.8 lbs each.  Not quite the 16 lbs of my 22x10.0-16 slicks, but not bad.  At first glance, the 275/35-15's appear almost identical to the 22x10.0-16's, in terms of width & diameter.

Now the question is whether to mount the tires on the Diamond wheels sitting in my garage, or wait a week for my blingy Bogarts to show up.  Nice problem to have, I guess......

Have you measured the actual width of of the 275/35R15s?  They seem pretty narrow to me, much closer to a 255 IMO...

Not sure what would lead you to call these tires narrow - that's definitely not a word that comes to mind when you see them in person.  Wink

Hoosier quotes tread widths ranging from 9.4" - 9.8" for their various 255mm sizes.  They list 10.1" for the 275/35-15's.  Based on my measurements, that number is very conservative.  On a 10" wide wheel, I'm thinking the useable tread width will be closer to 10.5".
