which other BS car moves from BS to DSP? really seems a bit irrational..that's where the GS cars go....my DS car goes to CSP. other DS cars go to ESP like the WRX. personally i would put it with the catch all of CSP. all sports cars under 2.0L not otherwise classified...but i guess some people on the board must drive mini's...if a DSP car is getting FTD then that's a bit messed personally...yea you have to be a good driver, but still you'll murder every other car in PAX then. there's no way civic SI or a sentra will ever compete with this. it's unfair to everybody that's already been classed DSP. i was there i know what that competition is like. even the Cooper S kills it. anyways...rant over...

You do understand that the car has yet to dethrone any of the BMW's?  Thus, at the national level, nothing has changed so far with this.  Possibly in your pond it's affected things, but the rules are written for the national scene, not in regards to the local stuff.  - AB

of course, they already don't compete with an E36....

(In reply to B1MMERS post, not sure what happened to the quote).....

Very true, I'm not sure that anything in DSP can dr-throne the Bimmers, EVER.

I will have fun trying though at one or two more National events later this season ;-)  I think the BMW's are safe for at least this year though(and probably many more).  However, we have made some really good changes to my JCW, so, who knows, maybe I'll at least be in the same ballpark before seasons end.

    1) No one on the SEB currently runs a Mini

    2) A mini is a sedan, not a sports car (think two seaters).

    And here's the real point...

    3) Maybe the JCW Mini is really a DS car but the SEB did not want to see it possibly win in yet another Stock class.  Plenty of DS cars are in DSP, like say..an E36 BMW?

Now I'm confused, look at page 14, item 6 of the April Fastrack http://www.scca.org/_FileLibrary/File/06-4-fastrack.pdf  It looks like the stock 06 JCW MCS is in DSP, not BS. If it's talking about modified JCW Mini's going to DSP, isn't the PAX for DSP better than the PAX for BS?

Are you familiar at all with the rules or rule book that the SCCA uses? http://www.scca.com/_FileLibrary/File/2006_solo_rules.pdf

In stock form, it's in BS. (Covered in '06 Rulebook)

In a slightly modified form on street tires, it's in STX (Also covered in '06 Rule book)

From slightly modified to decently modified, with R-compounds, it's in DSP. (Was in ASP in rulebook, and then clarified via Fastrack that it's now in DSP because it was changed after the rule book was printed).

DSP Pax (.829) is slightly harder than BS (.822).

If BS gets a 60.00 on a course, DSP needs a 59.492 to beat BS in PAX.

Thanks for the clarification, I race in Canada and the U.S. and must be confusing the different rules.
