1 Replies and 1096 Views Another National Win by Czacki  1096  1 Started by  ZOK Stan Czacki picked up another 2009 win from the SSB pole at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit near Tulsa, OK yesterday. Running within a second of the SSB record during the race, Stan held off an early threat from a new Nissan Sentra Spec V driven by Rob Jones of Marshfield, Missouri. As tires were taxed in the extreme heat and humidity, Stan was able to open up a substantial lead by the end, despite the recent allowance of removal of 100 pounds from the Spec V by SCCA's CRB. The extreme heat conditi...

0 Replies and 902 Views Miller/Packwood  902  0 Started by  ZOK Got a chance to check out Miller Motorsports Park on way to WA my wife's words 'best racing facility I have ever seen'. Bear in mind that does not speak to the quality of the racing experience, but does address the track's amenities and local infrastructure. At 850 miles on mostly secondary roads (although the secenery in UT is gorgeous) from Elephant Butte using most direct GPS route, one might better get someone else to haul the rig and fly into the nearby SLC airport......or be ...

1 Replies and 1217 Views IMPORTANT: Team Pan Am Club Racers and Solo Racers........  1217  1 Started by  Richard Dziak This past weekend June 20th, and 21st, the Chicago SCCA Region held their annual June Sprints race at Road America race track in Elkhart Lake, Wi. This is considered a 'major' SCCA event. While many racers recorded victories and had a great time, an SCCA tragedy occured and an SCCA Club Racer was killed in the E Production race while driving a Madza RX-7, at the young age of 48. Whether we are club racers or solo racers, SAFETY always needs to be the number 1 issue when on the track. While...

0 Replies and 831 Views HPR  831  0 Started by  ZOK On a trip to Colo. this past week, I was able to take a side detour and look at the new High Plains Raceway, east of Denver. The track itself will quickly become a favorite with drivers as it has the same characteristics as the other 'favored' tracks.......combo of fast and slow corners, long straights, up and down hill and some blind corners. I predict it will soon be revered like Laguna Seca, Willow Springs, Mid Ohio, Road America, Watkins Glen and other great US tracks. There are several vide...

For those who like the cool mountain air in mid July, come on up to Taos for the 3rd annual AX. I am not involved in staging the event so check the RGR website for final details. Located conveninetly 2 blocks South of historic Taos Plaza, you'll find us close to 5 museums, 60 gall...

Thanks for the accolades offered for a fun event. SWMS does a couple things rather differently from other clubs. First, SWMS allows street cars to drive in our HPDE/School. School usually has a 1 to 1 studnet to instructor ratio. Instructor rides with student for immediate feedback and coaching. School usually is 1 hour class, 15 minutes on track, class, track, class, track. School is very well received by students. This is SWMS 6th o...

4 Replies and 1250 Views National Tour - Farmington  1250  4 Started by  MDA_II I'm glad to say that San Juan County here in NM has really gotten behind this event and rolled out the red carpet for the SCCA and the national tour.Expect an event site about twice the size of what is normal for a regional event when Rio Grande runs here. There will be camping on site in the County RV park (new and clean, RV sites as well as dry camping on the river) located south end of the facility. The meet and greet will take place at Sunray Casino (adjacent to the event) on Friday night, a...

Jensen's Pikes Peak Motorsports Acura RSX outqualified Stan by ...2 secs 1:06.5 to 1:06.7 and Bob Schader's Mazdaspeed MX5 MSR (the MSR package alone costs more than Stan paid for his whole Camaro) with a 1:07.0. Jeff said his handling went away during the race and he could not keep up the pace set by Stan and Bob. Schader did c...

2 Replies and 1212 Views PPIR: Czacki Wins from Pole  1212  2 Started by  ZOK With weather issues all around, PPIR dodged a bullet today when all four races ran in the dry. Stan Czacki put his 2000 Camaro on SSB pole and 6th overall in the 20 car field/race 4 behind the T1 Corvette of Mike Pettiford and several highly modified E Production cars. The race was a real barnburner with Czacki and past National Champ (also past RMDIV Director immediately prior tp Jim Christian), Bob Schader swapping the lead several times per lap in SSB.....past RMDIV divisional champ Jeff Jen...

I have also attached a link for the National Points leaders for 2009 for those RMD SCCA members. Here's the link for all to view the 2009 RMDiv Club Racing Schedule
