Re: 2009 Nationals and Pro Solo Finals ......... MOVED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe it will be like Forbes in that we have to vacate the premises by a certain time (9pm?). There are some big grass fields within a quarter mile of the gate that will probably be used for Solo City camping. Lincoln area hotel res for Sept were cheap a month ago, especially if you use your SCCA discount. Login to http://ams.scca.com go to Discounts to get the code, http://www.choicehotels.com, etc. We won't be using up that many rooms on the weekends so there shouldn't be much of a conflict with the Nebraska football schedule.

How big is that place? Nebraska Region laid out the "large" course from 1999 Nationals (I think that was correct). An Evo instructor was there and "complained" that it was hard to pick up the course because it was so spread out !!!!!
It had to be Tim Herron. You know the curvature of the earth really effects him after about 100'. We'll have to get him a set of elevator shoes for Nationals.
Jr.
Although he may be somewhat vertically challenged (not really) and thus his horizon may be different than yours, you were wrong by about 4 hours. YOU do the math and e-mail me, and I'll tell you if you are right. Oh, and Tim wasn't there!!

Same disclaimer as before....
Since LAP is an active airport, we will not have 24 hour access to the site and just like at Forbes, the site will "close" at 8 or 9pm and not re-open until 6am.

And my response to the author;
The relationship between the SCCA and Heartland Park was a two way street. There are many reasons that the SCCA decided to relocate the road race Run Offs and Solo Nationals, not the least of which was a flood of feedback from SCCA members that the SCCA Board of Directors could not ignore. I can tell you that the SCCA membership really did enjoy coming to Topeka, but eventually not Heartland Park. Topeka has been a wonderful host city and one very common thread was how badly we felt about Topeka's loss, but not leaving HPT. Ray Irwin needs to look inside his organization rather than making SCCA the scape goat. As a manager I worked with once commented, "One is often perfectly positioned for the results they obtain".

CP Thunder:Just a reminder that if you don't mind a short drive (all I-80) in the morning and evening, OMAHA is only about 45 miles away. I only mention this to those who might be wanting hotel rooms.........could be (and I haven't checked) a significant cost savings. Maybe.........just spitballin' here.
Funny in that this is perfectly OK, but traveling the same distance to Memphis from Blythville was not received well.

I think maybe the difference could have been the size of both cities.......in our case, a minority of folks might want to stay the greater distance away vs if we had gone to Blytheville, a much larger number of folks would have to have stayed in Memphis due to lack of hotel rooms? Don't know........
Just a note, I WOULD have returned to Nationals had Blytheville been selected......my folks live just north of Little Rock..............

I'm all for drinking beer in the shower, but campfires?
Isn't it hard to keep them lit? Don't you worry about sparks?

I'd take either over most "journalists" :)
