Welcome to two new T1 racers....

I would like to introduce and welcome two new T1 racers in southern California.  Both are planning on racing at the Runoffs and possible one or some of the World Challenge GTS races.

Kyle and Bob Kelly just bought Craig Dale's immaculately prepped and twice raced 2008 C6 Corvette.  Kyle will do most of the racing initially, but his dad Bob might race on occassion, too.  Kyle is an accomplished racer in the GT1 class and has raced Atlantics, too, just to name a couple of classes.  He is a Runoffs veteran.

Brad Sofronas is nearing the completion of his T1 Porsche GT3.  It is a beautiful car although it was almost painful to watch it get stripped down.  Brad has some racing heritage in his family as you guys already know.

I am excited to see these two drivers joining our growing ranks in Cal Club racing.  Both these drivers should be racing our big southern California American Heart Association Double National Race at Buttonwillow in April.  That race will enjoy local TV and radio coverage and huge (by local standards) promotion by the American Heart Association.  We will even have thousands of spectators.

    Whoo Hoo!!!

Very fast, experienced guys.... one in the 'supposed overweight but fastest vette yet' (but will have ingle in his corner lobbying hard to CRB)... and one in a 'not so equalized rodeo drive car' (who will have his bro under the hood... err trunk?... working magic).... It will be fun to see how things shake out!

This season is shaping up to be the best one yet!

Welcome guys!  See ya next month!

2 new T1 guys......that is really encouraging  to see.  It seems T1 is dead or dying in the SE.  We have a National at Road Atlanta this weekend>>> 5 STU, 8 STO, 8 T2, & 2 T3......NO  T1!!!
This will be my 6th National race in 2010....I have only seen Chris Ingle from the SE div. & Ron Farmer ran 1 OD race at RR.....that's it.

    Hey Oli Kyle Kelley here,

Thanks for the nice introduction. My father and I picked up the C6 vet and it looks great, we will be doing a shake down this weekend at thunder hill. We have high hopes for this car and will keep you posted. We will be running this vet on the goodyear tires and will try to get it set just right before Buttonwillow.

Re: Welcome to two new T1 racers....

Good to hear others are joining (welcome). I plan to make it to  VIR.. I debated about moving to STO but  my  personal (lack of) ambition convinced me otherwise. Going 170 at Homestead/Daytona, in a "stock" C6  feels  the same to me as when I have driven over  200mph at Daytona a couple of times. These days I have enough trouble holding onto the  steering wheel of my  Forza 3 XBox Game.
