Former National Champion 1993 MR2 for sale [SOLD]

I won't be campaigning the 2 next season because I'm co-driving a CS car.  This car is simply too good to be sitting in my driveway for the next year gathering dust, so I've decided to sell it. ES is a great class because these older MR2 and Miatas are competitive, cheap and fun!  You can haul your tires/tools in the car, too, no trailer necessary!  This car is plug and play.  The car is dialed in, all the right parts are on it, just add driver and have fun!  It is setup to succeed on the National stage, and it has.  It trophied at every tour and pro solo it was at this year, won the National Championship back in the early 2000s, and won the Ladies Pro Solo National Championship last season.  I won the Devens tour with it last year, too.

    air-tight, water-tight sunroof
    Koni SA shocks all around
    ST front swaybar

    More specs:

Comes with five sets of rims, three of them very lightweight (Millenia fronts, SSR, Wedsport and Roto rears). Also, a fresh set of 5 month old rain tires with fewer than 20 runs, and a set of 3 heat-cycle 12 run A6s. I also am including a spare starter, passenger seat, alternator and the 2sRus tow bar. I have a small tire trailer we could also discuss.  The car has been well-maintained in the two years I've owned it, as follows:

    -rebuilt tranny ($2,000)
-new front suspension-tie-rods, ends (inner and outer), balljoints, wheel bearings
    -new distributor
    -new plugs/wires
    -new alternator
    -new battery
    -like new street tires
    -new rear Koni SA shocks
    -new motor mounts
    -new stereo with auxillary plug
    -recharged/rebuilt A/C system

    -new rear passenger side axle
    -PA inspected in July.

    Negatives:
-paint is not great. I never worried about it. It could use new paint to look perfect again.
-tears in driver's seat---the spare passenger seat fabric could be moved over
    -155,700 miles
-the temperature sensor is apparently not plugged in, it was fine before the tranny change. I just haven't searched around for it.

I'm asking $5600 {reduced} for all and live in the Philly area.  If interested, contact me at Surferjer at comcast dot net.  If I don't sell it, I won't be sad.  I really love this little car.

Thanks, Scott, and it may NOT be so.  It wouldn't break my heart to keep this car, but it just seems like such a waste when it is capable of so much on the big stage.  It will be at the Wachovia Center event on sunday kicking ass.  Come out and get a ride if interested.

This is a great deal for a fun, National winning car, folks. I had a '91 and sure regret selling it. GL with the sale and Merry Christmas!

Re: Former National Champion 1993 MR2 for sale

I co-drove this car all season, and it is an absolute BLAST.  it's fast, it's easy to drive, and it's set up extremely well.  the car does exactly what you want, when you want.  it is a really, really sweet little car.  anyone looking for a competitive, fun, reliable, inexpensive autoX ride should jump on this.  plus you can use it as a year-round daily driver AND haul your tires in it.

Soooo tempting.  This car is 1/2 the price of a set of wheels and Hoosiers for my BMW. Stick out tongue

    I have a nice bonus coming too.....hmmmm.

It's here and waiting, Dave, let me know!  And those 12 run Hoosiers are bagged and stored in a warm basement.

Buy it Dave!  It works even better than it did when you drove it years ago.
