At a Road America SCCA event, a Corvette driver was doing his thing when his hind-end swung around unexpectedly. The cause: A fire he hadn't noticed melted the tires. Slide show of the action below.

I was working a Divisional Solo two years ago when a Prod car (I think) blew an oil line and was on fire after going through the finish...........I was running directly at him with fire bottle in tow, waving for him to stop.......he didn't.........I chased him for nearly 100 yards until he realized HE was on FIRE.  Out of breath when I got there (panting like a dog), pulled the pin, dumped the bottle up under the left front fender and promptly got a face full of the dry chemical........which........due to my panting.........proceeded directly into my lungs........

Let'em burn I say!!!  (really.....just kidding)

He did come over to my pit later and thank me............
