NOT A SCCA SOLO EVENT - or why we have safety rules at our events

    http://ls1tech.com/forums/road-racing/1132140-finally-got-pics-my-first-autox-experience-goodguys-pleasanton-lots-pics.html

Lynn told me about this event and I was amazed.  How many safety problems do you see (if this were a SCCA Solo Event it would have never been allowed to start) But anyway..................

    I will start

    1. No Helmets

    2.

Maybe it wasn't actually an autocross, but a corner worker vehicle evasion test?  Actually, I don't see any corner workers...

And I think you found the ONLY SAFE THING at the event Big Smile I bet there is a baby in the back seat of the excursion - maybe even twin newborns Stick out tongue

    5. Concrete wall is too close to course and on a turn

WOW!  Takes me back some. This site was the main/only site for the San Fransisco Region for several years, though we didn't run as close to the edges as this course was laid out! "MRC"s, and multiple laps were common.  Perhaps they were opperating under the concept that if you needed helmets and other "restrictions", maybe these type of events "weren't safe",,,ala McDonnell Douglas theory, etc.....

I think the start is perfect - hammer the throttle, spin around the first left hander, smash the concrete wall and spray the crowd less than 5ft away with shrapnel.

The finish appears well thought out also - have the camera guy stand right there as cars fly off course.

    Wow....
