I have a SRT-4 that seems to run better with a passenger in the car.  I run STU, is it legal if I can find a way to add weight securely in the passenger seat?  The autocross club here does not allow us to run for points with a passenger so I will have to add weight if possible.

I don't believe there is any allowance in the rules to add ballast.

I would think balast was legal. It certainly is for other classes. (but I don't know). I wouldn't do it though. Weight is the enemy to good autocross cars.

You might try corner balancing the car. Or, you might consider it may just be psychological. (I do worse with a co-driver as they make me nervous, maybe they bring out your aggression.) I have heard of balance issues with very light cars, but with an SRT4 I wouldn't think it would make that much difference unless it was an alignment issue.

Just install a stock M3 seat on the passenger side to add wt. Just kidding Nebulizer. :)

My stock seats aren't as bad as most: manual, unheated, cloth option. Nice and grippy too - love 'em.

Or you could take about 25lbs (maybe more) off the nose of the car by removing your FMIC and putting a WAIC and have the pump with the radiator/fan in the pass. seat area and then like others said install your stock seat, get a small battery (or stock) and putting just behind the rear seat again on the right side, I not sure about the STU rules but can you remove your AC uint? install a light weight Alternator again putting weight on the right side of the car and making it more bal. then get the car corner weighted you may find that you weight in at about 25% lighter on the left side in theory.  just my.02

You're not allowed to change the intercooler in STU.

Re: STU class car Can I add weight to the car

There's not an allowance to add ballast, per se, but there's no rule against choosing heavier things to replace what's allowed...like, for instance, if the passenger seat and bracket were to somehow weigh 150 lbs...

Still, as has been suggested, corner balancing and/or the psychological factor are more likely what's making you faster. Extra weight will generally not ever make you faster.
