    National Tour - Farmington

I'm glad to say that San Juan County here in NM has really gotten behind this event and rolled out the red carpet for the SCCA and the national tour.

Expect an event site about twice the size of what is normal for a regional event when Rio Grande runs here. There will be camping on site in the County RV park (new and clean, RV sites as well as dry camping on the river) located south end of the facility. The meet and greet will take place at Sunray Casino (adjacent to the event) on Friday night, and there is also a full resturant and bar in the casino for those that want to hit that up. There will also be live horse racing going on, as well as a carnival for the little and big kids if so inclined, and a rodeo on Friday & Saturday evening. Food vendor will be on site, and the resturant at the casino makes a mean green chili burger as well.

Gas Stations are located 1/2 mile prior to event site (7-11 & Sinclair)

For anyone needing leaded race fuel in town, please contact D & M (505) 320-2021

I am also working on discounts from area resturants in town for SCCA attendees, show your membership card or pit pass and get % off.

The weather will be good, and I'm working on getting local TV and newspaper coverage as well, so we want as many people out as we can. - Mike

This event is now also the Rocky Mountain Divisional Championship. 2 events for the triple crown in one weekend.

No one from El Paso signed up yet?  I'm surprised, I was thinking quite a few would make it out.  7hrs too long for a National/Divisional event??

    Re: National Tour - Farmington

I plan to go but no one else has said if they can go yet.  We race this weekend, so I'll ask.

Some people are thinking it may get cancelled if registrations aren't up.  Any chance of that?

    Re: National Tour - Farmington

I have been told by the event chair, the R.E. and people from national that the event WILL happen. Will not cancel.

Some people seem to be waiting here within Rio grande as well, but here's the deal. Pre Registration prices are only for another week, then the price jumps $40. ALSO, pre-registration is the only way you can cancel and get your money back. If you wait until a week before, register, and then decide not to come out you have just made a donation to the SCCA.....so that being said.....we hope people from El Paso will make the run up.

We had a PCA event there this past weekend, a Rio Grande event this coming weekend. Lot is in GREAT shape, asphalt is grippy, no sand and there will be a fair amount of rubber down by the 15th. If you need a list of hotels and resturants it's on the SCCA website or I can email you a list: mda87402@gmail.com
