UPDATE
Team Pan Am Club Racer Richard Dziak finished the Arizona Region SCCA 2008-09 racing season as the Points Leader in Class FB (F1000) this weekend at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, AZ. He recorded 2 more 1st Place finishes this weekend.
Richard recorded 4...1st Place finishes during the season ... finishing with a total of 48 points in his respective class. Richard was the 2007-08 Regional Champion in Class FB (F1000) but was unable to win the crown again as he completed only 4 of the required 6 races for the Championship. "It was great being able to race the F1000 at such fine tracks as Phoenix International Raceway and Firebird International Raceway". "The Arizona Region, which is part of the SoPac Division of the SCCA is a fine group, and very professional in their organziation of their race events" The Arizona Region will begin the 2009-2010 racing season in September of 2009. Their racing season will run from Sept 2009 to April 2010. No events have been announced as of this date.
The Formula F1000 ran flawlessly and since the custom build of the Phoenix F1K.07, Team Pan Club Racer Richard Dziak has recorded 15...1st place finishes and 1..2nd Place finish in 16 race events over the last 19 months. "The F1000 is awesome and fast, and also intimidating to drive". At just 750 libs, and with the Suzuki GSXR 1000CC racing engine, the car powers 180 HP and can exceed 150+ MPH. This past weekend the AIM Gold dash recorded speeds in excess of 130 MPH. It was another great season in Arizona and Richard Dziak will now focus on the Championship series with Southwest Motorsports in Albuquerque, NM. Southwest Motorsports is in independent racing group and has no affiliation with the SCCA. Their rules and general racing critieria however match the SCCA. It should be a fun summer racing at Sandia Motorplex in Albuqueruqe, NM. With such a fine and fun track less than 230 miles away, it should make for an exciting summer 2009 of racing. Meanwhile in between racing in Albuquerque, Richard will enjoy many open track days at ArroyoSeco raceway located just east of Deming, NM. His next scheduled open track day is set for April 18th, 2009 at ASR.
