    Wheel and Tire size recommendations

Hey guys and gals. I'm hoping to come out the beginning of next year and start out in the rookie class.  My car should be about ready in December or January.

I'm here looking for some advice on wheel and tire size recommendations.

My car is a 1965 Mustang Coupe which modifications include:

    Front Suspension:

Global West Tubular Upper Control Arms with Negative Roll System

    620lb coil springs

    1 1/8" sway bar

Manual steering box with Shelby Quick Steer Pitman and Idler

    Poly Bushings on everything

    Pro-Motorsports Bumpsteer Kit

    Rear Suspension:

5 1/2 leaf mid eye springs (rated at 300lbs I believe)

    Poly shackles

    3/4" sway bar

    Chassis:

    Subframe Connectors

    Chassis Stiffener

will be adding a minimum 8 point cage

    Powertrain:

    Slightly modified 302 (5.0)

    5-Speed Manual trans

9 inch rear end with 3.70 gears

will be adding a locker or limited slip diff soon

    Brakes:

Currently 4 wheel disk swap but looking to upgrade to Wilwood 11.75" front Dynalite Pro Series and 11" rear

I'm looking at some 15" steel wheels, specifically Cragar Soft 8s. 15x7 front and 15x8 rear.

Should I be looking at 16 or 17 inch instead for the SOLO events?

Re: Wheel and Tire size recommendations

With all the modifications to stock you have done I would recommend that you plan your class after sitting with the rulebook.  After you have your class in mind, make some templates that will give you a better feel about what will fit and then get the lightest wheels inside the Hoosier A6 autocross tire.

     Hope this helps!

Looks like it is going to be street modified.  Handling wise, would you recommened I try and go with a 15, 16, or 17 in wheel?
