I'm looking for advise on what route to take and when to attempt to go through Chicago on my way to the Milwaukee Tour next weekend.  I made the trip two years ago and obviously didn't pick the right route/time.  It took me almost 5hrs to get through!  I am planning on making the trip on Friday, and I should be able to pick my arrival time to the Chicago area.  I am coming from Ohio on I-80. 

Should I take 294?  355? go all the way out ot 39? 

If I leave here early morning, I should be getting there around 10-11.

 Any guidance would be appreciated.

Know anyone with a spare C-130 sitting around?  Airlifting your car over that mess would be my choice.

Late morning I'd just stay on 90 (Skyway bridge/tollway) through downtown and then take 94 north (not west, Steve's not from around here) to Milwaukee.  After 2pm you might want to go around 294 due to rush hour.

WBBM 780 am has traffic reports every 10 minutes.  http://www.illinoistollway.com has construction info and the maps at GCM travel might help too.

Howard Duncan posted on the SCCA board that there was heavy construction on I-94 North of I-894.  He suggested taking I-894 around the city and then coming back onto I-94 to enter Miller Park from the West.
