    Ron Conrad's Father injured

    All-

Info below is from Brenda (Ron Conrad's wife)

    Ron's Dad

Just thought I would let you know Ron's dad, Larry Conrad, is at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  Today he was cleaning the gutters on his house when he fell.  Larry broke all his ribs on his left side and one on his right.  He also broke his left shoulder.  He is diabetic, so his legs are severely swollen from that too.  Larry had a reaction to the pain medication and his breathing is unstable.  Currently, he is hooked up to life support.  For now it is touch and go.  Ron is with his mother in Fort Wayne.

My dad is finally improving as of Wednesday.  They removed the breathing tube, and he can now breath with a mask.  He is still in Intensive Care at Lutheran, and will probably be there for a while to recover.

Thanks for your prays, and kind words.

    Great to hear, Ron!

I assume you will have a chat with him about not climbing ladders anymore... (better yet, 'borrow' his ladder for a project.... )

Hopefully he hires someone to clean his roof next time.  They had just had a bad storm either Monday or Tuesday before the accident, and since they live in a woods, and the winds were extremely high (up to 80mph gust in some areas of NE Indiana), there were plenty of branches to pick up.

My brother from Virginia Beach, and I got all the Yard projects done, so he would not have to worry about that for a while (hopefully).  He missed the rung, or his shoes were wet, and he slipped off.  My mom saw the whole thing.  She was about to leave, but didn't want to leave with dad still on the roof.  Good thing she did!

I may need to come an borrow that ladder...think it would fit on the roof of my Civic (12 foot wood latter)?
