Looking at a 99 ford e-350 van for future towing... Advice?

any advice for what to look for/ask about? I've never towed anything and never had a large vehicle.

I'm thinking a van because I want to use it for karting (store the kart in the back w/ no trailer) and later for towing the car to 3-4 out of state races a year.

the one I'm looking at is the cargo version with the basic 5.4l engine.

I'm on my second E350, and I think they are great.  First was a '94 with the 351 and E4OD, current is a '98 with a 5.4 and E4OD.  They tow very well, and hold a ton.  My first one was totalled right at 200K and it probably was due a transmission.  The current on has 176K and so far so good.

I've got 160,000+ miles in 9 years on a '94 E350 RV chassis motorhome, including 9 trips from Oregon to Topeka for the Solo Nationals.  It's a 460 with the E4OD.  It's been pretty reliable, so far only needing a water pump and a fuel pump, plus replacing the typical 460's snapped exhaust manifold studs.  Alignments can be tricky as the front camber changes drastically with/without weight on the hitch, but that may not be as big a problem on the shorter non-RV chassis.  Bilstein shocks are a great upgrade and I added a rear sway bar also which was a noticable difference over stock.
