I wouldn't worry about that; not w/the A6 compound that's been used for a few years now.

Re: What Sizes Does Kumho Need?

Im also In need of 245/40-17 or 255/40-17. Or ideally, a 255/35-17, although that probably wont ever exist.

Any word on what/when info will be available on possible new sizes?  Im in need of a set of R comps for this season, and If these dont come out soon, Ill have to try out the hankook z214's.

Kumho is listening, that is the point of this thread. I guess you were expecting a reply?

Re: What Sizes Does Kumho Need?

Realistic sizes like the 245/45-16 and 245/40-17 are a MUST

If we're discussing sizes that are a bit odd........

    A 245/40-16 and a 225/45-16 would be nice.

I'd personally like to see a sidewall similar to the Hoosier to utilize more of the treadwidth on a big tire on a smaller wheel. That would be my 2009-2010 wish :)

Re: What Sizes Does Kumho Need?

265/35 18  Please!!!!!   This will help the Evo and Sti guys keep there weight down if the new SM rules go into effect.  I'd also like to move away from using spacers like I have to with the 285's.

225 40 17, 225 40 16 It's sad when the tire diameters go from 22.8 to 24.7 and there are no sizes in between

Shouldn't that be a 255 since Hoosier has one now in the A6?

Good to see I'm far from the only one interested in a 245/40/15.  Combine that with a 225/45/15 for a good staggered setup on an ES/BS MR2.  The 225/50/15 is a bit tall for the front methinks.

    +12 or more...

    245/40-17; any 17" dia. in the low-to-mid 24" OD and 245-285 wide.

I agree!  I wish they would at least deliver on the promised new sizes that we're waiting for (225/40/17 and 245/40/17).  But yeah, keeping the OD in a low 24 inch range would be great!

Re: What Sizes Does Kumho Need?

We're running Hoosier 245/40-17's on either a Boxster S or 911 RSA. I certainly wouldn't mind a 255/40 (OEM fitment), 255/35, or perhaps even a 265/35. There's a big jump right now between 245/40 and 275/40 in Hoosiers, and Kuhmo doesn't have anything at all in that range.

Re: What Sizes Does Kumho Need?

I second that Tim.  A 255/35/17 or even a 245/35/17 (or something in that area).  A wide 17 that's around 24-inches in diameter would be a awesome tire.  We'd use it on the MX-5 MS-R to squeeze on a 7 inch wide rim.
