    Tire Rack Divisional Cup

    Just announced on scca.org;

    http://www.scca.org/newsarticle.aspx?hub=3&news=3330

    There are 2 parts to this new program, the Divisional Cup which is a points based competition at Solo Nationals and the Divisional Championship(s) which determine the class champions in each Division choosing to participate in the program. Participating Divisions get breaks on event charges (sanction fees) and these Divisional Championship events will have contingencey providers. Bridgestone has already signed on!

    In January I was appointed the RMD Solo Steward.
    Part of the job is to develop and manage the Divisional Solo program.

    So, I'd like to know what you would like to see in a Divisional Solo Program?
    Please keep in mind that we are a LARGE division geographicly speaking. The Division includes Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, part of Texas and part of Montana!

    What would you prefer?
    >>One single event to determine the Divisional Champions?
    >>A series of events held in different regions of the Division, points determine the Divisional Champs?
    >>Don't participate, don't need/want a Divisional Championship?
    >>None of the above, got my own idea! (please explain)

    BTW, competing in a Divisional 'qualifies' you to run Solo Nationals.
    Also, the Colorado Region RM Divisional July 12&13 does NOT have contingency support (sorry 'bout that.)

    Thanks for your feedback,

    Lindsay - RMD Solo Steward (just don't call me 'Stew'!)

    Re: Tire Rack Divisional Cup

    Lindsay,

       I will circulate this through e-mail to our Pan Am Region members and solicit feedback both through e-mail and this forum.  Personally, I like the idea of holding a series of events at different regions.  Obviously high gas prices and long towing or driving distances are going to affect the attendance. Perhaps a central location such as Albuquerque or Farmington, might work out.
