What is a good class for an N/A AW11(mk1 MR2)

I am thinking about getting a mk1 mr2 and was wondering what would be a good class for this car and having 13x8 with v710s? When i say good i mean competative on a local level. Could i run in the stock class since it's just rims and DOT tires? I read in here that this car in CSP is quite a bit slower than other csp cars like the miata. What class would be good for this car while keeping wider wheels with DOT tires? D Prepared? OSP?

Short of a full Prepared or SM2 build, SCCA classing isn't very kind to the first gen MR2's.  But since you said "local level"-

The 13x8's will put you in CSP at the very least.  How competetive it is locally depends on who runs csp with your club.  Those wheels and tires will increase the cars autox cabability by a large margin.  It would be fun to drive.  Same thing with D Prepared.  It won't stand a chance against a real DP car, but if DP in your region is populated by old Brit cars w/aftermarket carburetors...  Likewise with SM2.  Who's running and what?  If it's a couple of corvettes with aftermarket cams on street tires, go for it.  Fire breathing RX7's on uber-wide Hoosiers...maybe not such a good idea.

Your best bet with that car is to get new wheels and tires and run STS2.
