The weather is great and we're ready to start our Solo season here in the sunny southwest! The Pan Am Region has opened registration for a Solo school on Feb 23rd and a Test & Tune day for Feb 24th. Since I added bigger Hoosiers to my Goat, I'm sure the car is nearly perfect (slight challenge to the area Musetangs), but I'm looking forward to dusting off the cobwebs upstairs and getting my head back into a competitive state of mind. We will have some of our best drivers on hand to coach and Luis plans to set up several typical Solo course segments to create real challenges and learning opportunities. We'll provide timing so that individuals can gauge their effort and compare different approaches, but this is an open weekend with championship scoring beginning in March. If you are not interested in the school, register for the Test and Tune. Again, we'll provide timing and help you fine tune you vehicle for the coming season.
It's twenty dollars for the school (member or non-member) and Sunday will be another twenty dollars for members and twenty dollars. Non-members can purchase a temporary membership for $15. The temporary membership will actually need to be collected for either the school or "Test N' Tune", but will it be a one-time charge covering both for the weekend. If participants sign up and pay the full $75 Annual SCCA Membership at registration, we will give them either the school or the "Test N' Tune" at No Charge. The temporary membership is good for five days and applies as a credit to an SCCA membership up to 60 days from date of purchase.
(The temporary membership is a new SCCA requirement this year. It adds insurance coverage to event participants. It's a better deal to go ahead and buy a regular membership).
Registration is open, but closes Friday, February 22. Don't wait too long! Go to www.panamscca.org for further details and to use the on line registration.
