As the Director of the Richard Dziak Pan Am Club Racing Endowment, I am pleased to anounce that the endowment will make its 1st Club Racing Driver of the Year Award for 2007. This award is exclusive to and from the Richard Dziak Pan Am Club Racing Endowment and is meant to be a separate award being granted outside of the Pan Am regions own award(s). Last year in 2006 the Pan Am Region presented its own Club Racing Driver of the Year Award to Craig Wallen. The 2007 award will be presented at the Pan Am 2007 Award Banquet.
The Endowment annouces that it will make an award each year over the next 10 years. The award will be based upon the amount of races entered, the motivation that the driver has shown, the dedication to Pan Am Club racing, sportsmanship, and the overall success of his racing during the year.
In addition to the Driver of the Year Award presentation, I am pleased to annouce that the Club Racing Endowment has now been funded thru the year 2010. The Richard Dziak Pan Am Club Racing Endowment was organized and created to assist the Pan Am SCCA Regions own club racing members. In 2007 an monetary award was made to Stan Czacki to assist in expenses for the 2007 National SCCA runoff's. Over the next 10 years I have made a personal committment to fund the endowment personally. Funds will be used to assist those Pan Am Club racers in securing SCCA Club Racing licenses, driver schools, entry fees, tow money and other related matters regarding the PanAm Club racers efforts to build Club Racing within and exclusively to the PanAm region. This funding should help build the program over a long period of time, and will assist those racers who might otherwise lack financial assistance in developing their own club racing programs.
Additional, contributions are always welcome to the endowment from its members, region or outside corporate sponsors.
The Pan Am regions "club racing" program continues to grow and we have added 2 new Formula cars to the program. Both John Basler and Gary Meyers, are now part of the program and will work hard to secure Club Racing licenses in 2008. Meanwhile other club racers have either secured new Formula race cars or are in the process of converting their Formula cars to the new FB Class of high speed, high performance Formula race cars.
I welcome all club racers to our program, both old and new, and hopefully in the future we can continue to build on our very own Club Racing program.
