    harts:

We get fewer cars for the Aussie than any other event by far, there has been talk in the past of getting rid of the event because of it's low turnout so why not jazz it up a bit,, maybe get some interest from people that nomaly don't come

    Cobra:

We're keeping the same Aussie course.  Not going to open that can of worms yet again...besides, that's a non-points event and it's strictly voluntary. Wink

NEW pad area for Terre Haute:

Note that it is a bit smaller than last year.  Geoff and I should have exact measurements within a couple weeks once we make a trip out there.

That discussion was when the Aussie was a points event.  Now it's off the points schedule and despite the turnout, those of us who choose to go have fun nonetheless. Smile

Not going to beat a dead horse with the Aussie discussion.  People show, it makes money, and those who come out have a good time. Besides, with the format this year you can go to the T&T or the Aussie...or even both.  That's the beauty of how we have things set up this year.

Can we please not turn this into an Aussie thread. This is for course design discussion, minus the Aussie since that design is set.

Whoever designed that 16th street course last year with the off camber over the hill deal, applause from me.  That course was actually fun to drive on and even fun to watch!!!  Too many of these are designed with little hidden agendas of giving the designers car type some sort of pax advantage.  You can almost tell who designed them just by driving through it once LOL!  Cool contest.  I will refrain from submitting an entry because I think the figure 8s, loopty loops, jumps, 70mph straights, and mud bogs would be frowned upon!  I'll get to experience most of that at the Winged Warrior course :)

That was either Kevin Kent's course (Fun Event) or my course (1st points event).

Actually both of those courses were really good...but it was yours that made me smile :)  I actually thought there were several really good courses last year, so kudos to all the designers.  I love the courses that are designed in a way that it isn't just who can slip their car the smoothest through the best line, one that isn't tight for Miatas or small ST cars and eliminates acceleration points....but just a course that is meant for having fun.  Your course had people taking that off camber section with more and more speed every time, and you could see it on everyone's face as they were grinning ear to ear and working the steering wheel back and forth to keep it under control.

I know without a doubt that the best course this year will be the NASA course at ORP because of all the "elements".  There will be 2 "jumps", varying surface, 70+mph slalom, and I'm sure something else thrown in there for grins.  I'd like to see something a little against the grain at Grissom.  I know it is limited because of the surface condition, but something new and exciting can be done there for sure.

You wouldn't want to drive on one that I designed Ha ha.  Honestly, I think I'm a little low on experience for designing a good and fair course for everyone.  I'll kick some ideas around.

    Try me. :)

If it isn't similar to what we're looking for, I'll be happy to help make a few adjustments to make it right.
