    All,

I thought I'd try to help out one of our region members by posting his Formula Ford for him.

If you know anyone that may be thinking about a CM car, this one is sweet.

    Vector FF for sale

    Attachment: DSCF0792.JPG

Another great FF for sale over on ApexSpeed.  Here's the info:

After much consideration I am putting my 93 Vector FF up for sale. This is not a fire sale so please no insulting offers. I am just thinking my racing money might be better spent somewhere other than the SCCA.

The Vectors are great handling, light weight and fast. I have 20 lbs of lead in the car and I weigh 205lbs. I ran 8 nationals this year, 8 poles, 5 wins, 2 seconds, and 1 DNF (battery cable came off). Finished 8th at the 09 run-offs. Do not let the mon-shock scare you, the set up the Vector uses works extremely well.

    • The car has a 3 race old strong Farley Motor rebuilt 6/09 (motor has the new .005" forged pistons, stock rods and stock crank, matching BLC iron head[with all new valves], intake and carb, crane ignition).
    • Double adjustable Penske shocks serviced the first of this year
    • brand new Two Dogg Inc drive shafts being made right now
    • Installed a new lightened 10:31 r&p on a lightened steel diff before the run-offs
    • spare wishbones: 1 upper front universal wishbone, 1 upper rear universal wishbone, 1 each R&L rear lower wishbones, 1 right front lower wish bone
    • 1 front and 1 rear new spare uprights
    • 1 front and 1 rear push rod, 1 track rod
    • 2 extra sway bars
    • 8 gear sets
    • 2 spare rotors
    • 2 spare half shafts/drive shafts
    • 2 sets of BBS wheels
    • one session used rain tires bought new 4/09
    • one set of dry tires with 15 minutes of qualifying (run-offs) on them
    • there is a spare set of unknown brand shocks
    • 3 sets of springs
    • 2 spare noses (3 total including the one on the car
    • new slave cylinder piston and throw out bearings
    • new master cylinders 1/09
    • fuel cell re-foamed 1/09
    • 3 of the original Vector wheels 9using two of them for paddock wheels with big tires on them
    • plenty of minor spares as well:c/v joint, clutch disks, throw out bearings, master cylinders, a wheel bearing or 2, a couple of sets of 2 session run-off tires and a lot of misc stuff.

The car had a 14 year break from 1995 until I bought it in January, still on the original log book. Some of you will remember it on E bay. I went through the whole car before I raced it and rebuilt all the hydraulics, replaced all the plumbing, new wheel bearings. and put together a great spares package. The only thing I still want to do is put new bushings in the steering rack and get a new header (has the original steel step header).

There are some previous repairs on the bell housing (nicely done) and one of the front lower wishbone mounting points was repaired or reinforced, not sure which. The belly pan (stainless steel) has its share of curb rash as well.

I will get detail pictures of anything somebody might want and email them to you, just ask.

    $16.5K or respectable offers?
    Location: Richardson, TX

Re: Where to find a good C-Mod car?

    Geoff,

Having been in your position in the past, all I can do is encourage you to go ahead with this.  CM was an absolute blast!!  I miss my Swift all the time.  I never really felt I was getting everyhting out of it, and my finishes were su-par in my opinion, so I eventually bailed after three awesome years.  (I needed a car for my daughter to learn in too....that was a big part of my decision)  Anyway, playing with a "real" race car was a joy.  Basically put gas and oil in and drive like mad.  It was a lot of fun learning all the in's and out's too....lean on the current CM guys here...they were always an invaluable resource.  You will be welcomed into a great class by everyone and get a lot of support.    Oh...the co-crive idea is a solid one.  Most CM drivers can benefit from a co-driver, and if you can find a seat you will get some exposure to the class with minial investment.  Anyway...good luck!!!!

    RF-85 for sale

    http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34513

    Hey Folks, I have a new E-mail address. bozeman22@gmail.com

This car took a hit in the right side, destroyed the radiator and bent a couple of frame tubes. Very easy repair, no twist in the frame. [See update below - has been repaired.]  I would like to sell the complete car but if need be I will part it out starting next week.
I did a total restoration two years ago. All new fasteners, plumbing, wiring along with most of the fiberglass. Both rear stub axles (in the uprights) were replaced just last year.
Stock dash was replaced with a MyChron 3 Gold data logging dash.
    Penske 8100 dampers.
    New Tilton master cylinders.
Very strong Ivey engine with five race weekends and two test days since total rebuild.
Rebuilt gear box, all new bearings. Nice shifting box with several sets of gears.
Some spare A-arms (front & rear).
    Spare ARBs.
two rear uprights (both need repairing).
    CV joints.
    Nice open trailer.
    Plus other odds & ends.
If anyone is interested in a simple project this might be it.

    Open to offers.
    John

    Update:
I have repaired the frame and replaced the radiator (at the tune of about 2K) so all that is left to do is some minor fiberglass work. New price is $9800.

Re: Where to find a good C-Mod car?

We're out here and we're still looking. Trying to clear out some of the other racing stuff we've acquired over the years to make room for the car. It still may be a while until we're in a position to buy.

Long time Nationals C Mod car for sale on eBay

    Attachment: Picture 4.png

Bill and Linda Smiley are selling their Van Dieman Formula F.  This car is ready to win right now.  The buy-it-now price is only $8500  $7995.  If I was trying to get started in C Mod, this is what I'd buy.

According to the listing, it sold for $7000.  I wonder if it went to a Solo person.

I believe this was actually the Smiley's old car, which they sold maybe three years ago.  They ran Nationals in a Tiga in 2007.
