Would it work better then a NA V8? That I don't Know. With the experience I have with turbo cars I think it might be unmanagable when the boost comes on but if that ends up being a problem all you need to do is turn the boost down. That could be an advantage on a slick course.

I can only tell you a couple of things based on experience autoxing a turbo car.  First, I ran an auto trans behind my turbo motor and worked with stall converters until I took out the loss of traction from the boost coming up.  Since then, I have reconfigured the rear suspension to absorb that torque spike even better.  Second, my current ride makes over 500hp at the crank and it feels slow on some courses and I could use more power.

Again, when I campaigned my car previously, the rules didn't allow the open FI that is currently available.  I was limited to the stock components and computer when I started as well as 10in wheels when everyone else had 12s.  Unfortunately, I just can't get excited about running a turbo again even with the current rules.  This year's west courseI(lots of quick transition)was hard to be fast on with a turbo.  It can be done but there will always be a course that hinders a turbo driver.  I know the SM cars and the ST cars do this and that but I am speaking based on a CP turbo car.

    Re: CP forced induction question

My turbo autocross experience is with an AWD car so a little different then CP. That car had a flat torque curve and the boost was allmost instant and pulled hard all the way to redline. The power came on harder and faster then any NA car I have ever driven and would be a great autocross engine on nearly any course. I think it would be hard to put the power down with a RWD car only because of how hard the power came on at a fairly low RPM. This was not a super high HP engine, it put out 350 AWHP which is between 425- 475 depending on who's drivetrain HP loss % figures you wanted to use but did well for what I built it for, daily driver(even in snow), Autocross and the occasional trip to the strip. Honesty, I would consider giving my left nut to legally put that engine in my CP car, probably go with slightly larger turbos just to cut down on how fast the power came on. I have never driven or even riden in a turbo buick V6 car so I have no idea how fast the turbo spools in those cars but if properly sized it should spool pretty fast
