Meh, I think Zach even picked on you guys a few times. He almost beat me on PAX in WAI for the year. Seriously though, the car's capable of beating some SS schmo's, it's the drivers of said car that I question.
It's going to an interesting season...

You know, Bradley, you might concern yourself more with getting your BSP car to go faster than Super Stock, before you worry too much about Mr. Padberg. You weren't able to do that all year at home, at the Milwaukee Region events. Maybe you should just try to beat Dad more often? I will give you credit for your, seeming, improvement at the last two events, though. Gettin' closer!!
Have a great Winter and safe and Happy Holidays. Say "Hi" to Dad (the hairlip) for me.

You could always hop back in the C5Z. I believe you have better shocks than I do. Then you dont have PAX to worry about.
Or, I'll buy shocks for your Uncles C6Z and we can codrive that!! I'm not sure we will do any better but I'm sure willing to row that baby into 1st and let'er rip!

Sad story Chris, about two weeks after I had the C6Z at the NSTC, the car found a more loving home. Rob sold it for a BMW Z8. As far as shocks go, the C5 has revalved Koni's, much like what you're sporting. Sorry to burst your bubble. The C5 may make another appearance this year, we'll have to see.

Mugenlude:
I'm confident that the Bridgestone is faster on most courses on asphalt,
I'd be interested to see just how scientific the big tire test was in '08. I'm skeptical, purely for the fact of how long, and complicated of a course you guys used. A good TnT course should be in the 30-40 sec range, and should be simple to execute. You should be able to make five runs in a row on the same tenth. IMHO, anything outside of that and driver error, run to run, hides the true result on the clock. However, one thing you can learn, regardless of the course, is driver confidence in a setup. In solo, that is an important variable, that you cannot quantify on time.
Mugenlude:
... we do run a pretty smooth lot though, which isn't hurting us as much as it might other places.
I really don't think Miller Park is that smooth anymore. It has a lot of undulations in it, particularly in some areas. You can see and hear them on in car video, even in my softly sprung stock class car.
Mugenlude:
SS picked up a couple tenths on ST, Paddberg basically picks up a half second...
Relative to a 60 second course for SS, ST has to go 0.166 sec faster than last year and CP gets to go 0.140 sec slower. So, for you (or, should I say Craig ), it's really only 0.3 sec you gave up to Darrel.

None of this will matter when y'all see what an RSX in DSP can do... Ooh, my own shiny, soft index!

Well, if I were purely index racing, that's where I'd go with the car. The DSP index got softer compared to STX next year, and if R-comps are truly worth about 2 seconds on a 60 second course (a big IF), the calculator says DSP would be a more competitive spot. Now, the pocketbook... yeah, that says something entirely different.

Quit buying so many Different tires and you will have plenty of could hard cash for R's.

The '08 test wasn't good enough for me. I have pretty solid data from two seperate tests, one in Blythville, and one bigger test in Lincoln. We tested 5 tires in Lincoln...most all the big players. (Did not test Dunlops) It was a classic, simple T and T course with a good mix. Both Chris and I were running very consistently, within 2 tenths of ourselves in 3 to 5 run segments. Repeatedly. Then went back and re-tested the earlier brands to account for conditions and driver improvement. We put a lot of time, money, and effort into it this year. I put much more stock our testing than the mags so far. I would like to re-test some more now that we are starting to get close to a good setup. I also agree on the feel-factor. Data logs show some interesting things, but the feel and drivability were worth a great deal in these tests....especially on these Street tires.
Jason pretty much has it right IMHO. The Stones do perform better on Miller Park type asphalt than they do on Lincoln concrete. Some of the tires were very sensative to surface, while others seemed to be good across the board. Also, some performed significantly different in varying driving situations...more than I would have believed up front. The one thing we did not account for was the secret 195 Toyo magic blend though. Didn't see that one coming!
