Ron Conrad mentioned on the yahoo boards that the late fee may be waived up to June 1st.

Late fees for autocross events really piss me off. But, I can understand why an organizer would have them. They make arrangements based on the number of entrants to the event. If they can secure these arrangements two weeks ahead of time, it makes things worlds easier for the organizers.

Anyone grabbing a hotel room in Peru or Kokomo for this weekend that has room for one more?

I should be good to go.  I have a business trip and I wasn't sure if I would be back in time, then I leave Monday morning again for Florida.  I THINK I'm good for both days with my wife going out of town!  I hope registration without penalty is extended.

I believe there is no late fee - but registration ends at 6pm tonight.

I am still unsure if I can make it... gotta figure it out really soon (only 4 hours left). I may sign up for both days but only go 1 - only $10 difference for 1 day vs. 2 and then I can pick which day has better weather. I sure would like to test out the new sway bar.

I signed up for both days (no late fee) - but will likely only make it one day TBD.

6:30am tech? By appointment only? Yikes.

Luke, what happened to you? Registration is now closed, but you might give that number a call if you still want to get in.

Looks like I am in for Saturday, but highly doubtful for Sunday. Good to see we have a lot of people signed up now.

Did you guys do tech today?

I forgot to set an appointment for tech in the morning. There has to be time for tech Sat morning if I show up well before the end of tech time, right?

Re: GLDiv Peru Event June 6th & 7th

On a scale of 1-10, the course gets a "1"

    70 second extremely tight course.

Wore out our freshly flipped (unused side) Hooisers

Mostly gates without any pointers. Some gates were inset and less than 20" apart.

I especially liked the part where we went offroading through the weeds! lol

"7" 1st gear downshifts (no really, they were necessary). (4) 15 mph turns

Sorry to those I offend, someone needs to bring up this issue. We drove a good distance for this event. After today's course and looking at tomorrows, we decided to drive home. . Both my co-driver and I are really bummed about the event. Had we known in advance, we would have stayed home and used the tires for at least 3 more events and saved a whle bunch in travel expenses. Needless to say, that is my last GLDiv and South Bend event. I truly wish those who organized the event (South Bend) the best, but also want you to know how we felt about it...

Glad I stayed home.  You are not the only one who had mentioned the poor course layout.

I can't say I don't agree to an extent on the day 1, but you should have stuck it out for day 2. The course was much improved - not complicated, much less unnnecessary cones, flowed better, and ran quickly. The 2nd heat was done before noon. I have already had time to hang out after my runs, driven home (to Indy), unloaded my car, showered and everything and it's 2pm! (last heat is probably finished already)

Day 2 I give a thumbs up. They addressed a lot of issues and made the improvements. I know there was a lot of complaining, but it looks like they listened. I'll be happy to run this series again.

I agree 100%. I've been to quite a few SBR events and none were ran so poorly. The first days course was awful. Todays course was much better except for two exceptions. Stuffing the slalom in there for the sake of having a slalom was a mistake. Also, the cars were running DANGEROUSLY close to eachother at the center of the course. Two cars coming at eachother at nearly 50mph less than 40ft apart is A BAD IDEA! Fortunately, no cars collided and no course workers were hurt.

Mark, you can fill out an evaluation and submit it. I was told that they are on the GLDiv website. I would strongly suggest you do so. I plan to. I didn't fill one out at the event because I have way too much to say about the event to do it there. None of them good things.
