Why, the terminal connection that we didn't try to repair because we suspected the other one, of course.
I re-did the RJ-11/RJ-12 connection like 5 times before deciding that I'd make a short test cable (it worked) and then deciding to re-do the RJ-45 connection.
I've got about 700' of CAT5 in my closet, so I'm going to make us up a spare or two.
