Re: Wendover Pro Where you at?

I just signed up...where does everyone stay? I'm not sure I want to spend the $600 in gas it would cost to drive the motorhome...speaking of which, is there motorhome camping on site?

btw, Kenny Loggins? Jason, are you sure you didn't go to bendoverfun.com by mistake...Stick out tongue

    Mike,

Yes, there's RV camping on-site.  There's also a small RV park with hookups at the Nugget Casino right on the road from the highway into the site, and we'll sometimes stay overnight there when it's really hot.  There's also a KOA in town.

Re: Wendover Pro Where you at?

Thanks, Jim. I'm thinking taking my tire trailer and leaving the RV at home will make more sense...not only cheaper, but faster, as I figure I can average quite a bit higher mph with the Mustang across NV Wink

Pretty sure, unless I accidentally stumbled upon Motonishi's bookmarks.

My folks love Kenny Loggins, so I figured guys like you and old man Sipe would probably be into it. Stick out tongue

Re: Wendover Pro Where you at?

I thought the Nugget was a dump?

Anyhow, I'm thinking Montego Bay is the nicest, but I know the Peppermill people (from Reno) and they seem to run a good operation...whatever, they're all cheap...at least compared to what I was paying in Boston and Manhattan, last week!!

edit: Montego Bay doesn't have any non-smoking rooms for Saturday night, so the Peppermill seems like the best bet.

Glad to see Jim and Ron signed up for CSP!  Anyone know if Tom K. is coming?

not so old that I won't make a round trip drive to Salt Lake City on Saturday night to eat at an awesome restaurant

the suites at Montego Bay can be had with both a steam shower and hot tub, I'll waste my money there than at some smoke-choking casino event

I'm now out for Wendover, due to work.

BTW, Montego Bay is sold out for Saturday night, even the "luxury" suites

Bummer, I hope you can make it to Packwood then.  Let's get some West Coast F Stock action going!

I did make some preliminary plans today to attend the Packwood events. Unfortunately, I can't get my car up there and will also have to split the two weekends with work in Portland and Seattle. I'd love to run F stock, but none of the rides that have come up, so far, are F stock cars.

We can't get the car up there, but if there's an empty seat in a CSP ride, I could make the trip happen.

I'll be hooking the trailer up to the Miata and taking out the big sticky tires and possibly playing with you in CSP.  (I'm the only one in STS2! Crying)

We will see.  At least everyone will know they won't place last! Yes

Re: Wendover Pro Where you at?

Wendover, though remote, is one of the best solo events every year.  In the 13 years I've been active in Solo II, Erik and I have only missed Wendover once, (hawaii vacation).

It's a favorite because the surface rocks, (concrete), and the courses are traditionally fast, transitional and fun to drive.

Yes, it's in the middle of nowhere, but it has history, the Enola Gay was hangered there, movies have been shot there.  It's middle of nowhere cool:=)  Rooms are cheap,(relatively), and nice, the casinos are fun.

If you're considering going, do it, you won't be disappointed:-)

I hope some more people show up tomorrow! It's a shame a there's a MIDDIV going on at HPT this weekend too; I know several of the Colorado guys are going there instead of Wendover. :(

There may not be a large entry, but there are some really fast guys/gals that are going to be there...I'm bummed that meetings are getting in the way of being there...that darn business stuff just gets in the way of the important things in life, I tell ya.Angry

Plus, it's kind of like the cross between a old western ghost town and a minature Las Vegas.

I was thinking more like a cross between Death Valley and Jackpot. :)

     See ya there!
