no, i've done two pros with the 'two so far. the car owner offered the car to me for fingerlakes, so i said ok (thanks jerry!!). i wasn't planning on running STS2 in any pro except maybe the finale.... but i guess not.
i still dont see why it makes a difference, except for index. and index shouldn't affect points. :P

I agree that it's weird . . . checked the rules and I didn't actually see a reference to it. It would have to apply to the modified and prepared index classes too, right?

Honestly I do not know, I did not see anything in the rules that is why I called Nancy directly. I would say to call her if you want to know about modified and prepared index classes.

    straight from Nancy:

"It has to be in two events in the same class and if that class is
indexed (P1, M1, L1, or L2) it must have the same index. Angie is
    correct."

bummer. i had no idea. didnt mean to question you, angie, i just wanted to make sure since i don't own either of the cars that i was considering driving... see you in fingerlakes!!

we could all write letters asking for that to be changed for L1, L2, P1 and M1. Unless we are all looking over some good reason why it is like that (que smart guy with all the answers)

Just be careful of the lightning.

Lamoreaux Landing has some great Reislings, and Wagner Vineyards & Brewery, has some great beers, and a nice resturant. (Lunch/late lunch only, though.)

    I hope you're enjoying youself.

if you are at the campground I may see you tomorrow!

BTW, had dinner last night at the Crow's Nest up near Geneva. It was actually very nice -- deck and semi-enclosed bar overlooking the water, good food, no beer on tap :( but an acceptable bottled selection (a place like that basically NEEDS to serve Corona)

Fantastic event! By the time we watched Chris Travis slide his way through the finish to win the HT challenge, I'd completely forgotten about timing gear issues.

There were lots of full classes (most of which seemed more diverse than usual), a killer course design (thanks Cory!), some exciting close finishes and wild hero-runs, and then - watermelon! Thanks to FLR for the huge effort, and to the national staff for doing everything they could to make up for the lack of a real ProSolo start.

Agreed, I thought the timing issues were handled well, I didn't mind losing the tree since I can't stand the LED one anyway.......... although I'm curious how the tree would have affected our ESP standings...... congrats to Kenny S on the win, I should have rolled my windows up ;-)

Re: Finger Lakes ProSolo, July 26-27

I agree that the timing issues were handled quickly - but why were there timing issues?  ProSolo is the title of the series.  We should have multiple redundancies (backups) built-in to the system from the start.

The LED tree ain't terrible, but it really is not as nice as the double system.  The gesture on Sat PM was nice, but I heard more than one person say that they should have taken that money to build a better system to use before the Finale.

It was a 9-run Tour that qualified a bunch of folks for the finale, so I won't complain much.  But they need to get a Pro system in place to avoid these problems.

Re: Finger Lakes ProSolo, July 26-27

Having done both the Arkansas single Pro and the Finger Lakes one I'm going to compare the two...

First, both regions are outstanding hosts, my hats off to both!!

The tree/timing issues are known and hopefully can be improved.  I don't like the LED system lights as much as the regular double tree but that's just my opinion.

The handling of the light issue was well done by the national staff so hats off to finding a solution that didn't ruin the entire weekend.  In fact I like the staging light so much that I'd recommend national finds a way to use it in the Tours and the Championship too.  It's nice to know that everyone is starting from exactly the same spot rather than the judgement of the starter.  Just a thought.  Philly has a good light system for staging and starting cars and nationals should explore their system, IMHO.

    Regarding the format:

Far better than Arkansas.  Best two runs overall kept the feeling of a Pro intact where no one was out of it after the the first day and everyone was throwing it all down on Sunday with a chance to win. Nobody was "being safe" just to get a clean run.  With rain in the last heat of the Saturday AM runs, wiping out two runs, it would have been a different SS finish having to stand on your first run of the event!  You have my vote to stay with the Finger Lakes best-two format for future singles.

Also, having the run order change based on performance was much better too.

This new format felt more like a Pro where the first two heats are for bragging rights and position, and the last heat is for the marbles!  Good job on changing it.  Now once they fix the lights and timing  we'll have a succesful format that can make ProSolo viable into the future.

Hats off to the Finger Lakes region and the National Staff for a great event under extreme circumstances!

Re: Finger Lakes ProSolo, July 26-27

This was my first single course Pro.  Personally the tree going down didn't really bother me a ton.  I think the staff handled it well and made a decision quickly which kept the event moving.  Kudos to them and to the region, it was a first class effort.  I thought the course was good, even if it was bad for my car.  I enjoyed it.

That being said, I don't think the format is for me.  I don't really get the point of the single course Pro.  The fun of a Pro is running head to head with the next fastest person in your class.  Seeing who crosses the line first.  Lining up against them on the other side.  This format just felt like a tour with the added abuse of a drag start.  I didn't really dig it.
