E-mail sent to Kentucky Region webmaster (also the PO of my FF).  He has forwarded the info on to the ten or eleven C Mod Solo drivers in Kentucky Region.

Thanks Nick, this could get INTERESTING! Wow, I just checked some results from their events. That must be the biggest C Mod region in the country.

What about some of the Northeast Division regions?  Aren't there quite a few CM cars up that way?  Again, it would be a pretty long haul, but it's worth asking.

I wonder how we could attract some people who have cars (especially "tweener" cars that aren't RR competitive but are too new to be Club Ford eligible), but haven't run them in years?  Maybe convince them to dust them off and bring them out to attract a buyer, if nothing else...??

Sounds great, Stan.  I know Kentucky Region (Louisville area) has a whole group of FF's - like 10 or 11.  The PO of my car was a KYR member.  It's 8 hours away for them, but hey... maybe one or two will come.

Hey guys. I am from KYR. We have a points event the 20th so I doubt most would make the drive. Most of our CM group sets up, tears down, and runs the events. We do have a pretty big group, most of whom got into the class due to  a local guy who has bought cars from all over the country and then sold them to locals.  Lets see, we have an 85, 86, 86, 88 and once repaired an 84 Van Diemen, (Until Erik sold his and moved to Germany we had an 83 VD)a Swift, a Zink, a Royale, a Crossle, a Reynard, a Lola and I think thats it.... There are three ladies who drive at times, and a few other occasional co drivers.

We are all good friends, and enjoy when we get folks from out of town to run with us. I think it would be a blast if we can get folks to come in, say for our Aug 10th event at Papa Johns stadium. We have guys down from MI, IN, and OH at times, I imagine we could get huge turn out of we can get folks from other areas in as well. We have heard the lot's surface is good prep for the new nationals surface.  It would be really cool to get 20-30 Formula Fords together... Talk about a photo op...   Would anyone be interested in doing the drive to Louisville on 8/10? Come down early, or stay a day late, get together have a few beers, talk about how fast we think we are ;) If there is interest we can spread the word on apexspeed and other sites, maybe get some road racers to come play also...

    Adam,

That is exactly the idea we are kicking around. I believe if we could get some small amount of sponsorship from a company that does business with all of us (Hoosier, Pegisus, BAT, etc.) we could have a 3 or 4 event series each year during the summer, say east of the Mississippi. I'm trying to get a special old school silver trophy and perhaps some cash awards for 1st to 3rd. A podium and trophy girls might be cool. You know, put on a show for the folks who still think race cars have fenders.

Why not use the east-of-Mississippi Tour schedule?

Sure that would be worth looking into.

I should be having lunch with a hand full of local CM guys tomorrow. I'll see what we can come up with also.

Thought I would share a few pics from local events. Can't seem to find any with the whole group at once, but still some pretty nice shots.

    Adam,

Thanks for the photos. That is unbelievable! I think you said someone up there started dealing in FF1600s a while back. Dave Cutchins and I are always having folks come over and talk about our cars. I'm almost sure we could sell a few. We know of 3 or 4 new owners that were influenced by us. I sure wish we could find an event site that we could all get to. BTW, how far from you would Cumberland, Maryland be? They run a weekend event each month in the summer on the very same airport that held SCCA National Road Races in the 50s and 60s. We try to run with them at least once or twice a year. It is a 6 hour tow for us but really worth it. A great group of folks. Here is their website. Be sure to check out the photo section for some very interesting historic cars and drivers. http://www.nationalroadrally.com/index.html  We could make the July or August dates.

I just checked the mileage from Louisville to Cumberland and it works out to 470 miles, so that is still too far for you guys.
