Hey Bryan, Your Mother called, asked me to tell you that she wants to drive the MINI. She said she is sick of these Ol Fart brunches you keep dragging her to, after all she brought you home from the hospital in a SPORTS CAR!
I told her I would get some graphics for her on it!

NoPAnTsDance:
AWD is nice, but its kinda funny how a pair of front drive Sentras kept you guys honest
Props to Jarrod for taking 8th.
My excuse is that GS cars were running in Heat 2, when the course was drying up. I refuse to admit that the driver's skill played any role.

Well i just want to say thanks to all the hard work and dedication people showed this weekend. Without people toughing it out, and pitching in we wouldnt have had a chance to run in the wonderfull wonderfull rain....or slightly dry for those in heat 2 :) . I will glady claim mother nature for the assist, i was just hoping i could hold out and stay in the top 10.
I had a blast out there driving and really felt good about the way i was approaching it. I could have pushed harder in a few turns, but i was really starting to lose it on the slalom. I think this is the first course i have ever hit the rev limiter in 2nd gear, and was using that as a judge for how well i was doing on the downhill section. But i was most surprised at how well i was able to break on the sealed black top section, going into the final turn. Usually i would almost lose it in the wet, but i was able to maintain control fairly well.
Again thanks to all who helped out, especially those who had to work course on heat 2, and congrats to Matt on his excellant job of breaking top 10 and pushing me to keep getting better. I know its not the best way to make top 10, but i want to enjoy my moment with the big dogs just a little longer.
Can we do all events in the rain? or if not all, atleast 50%?

johaen:I want to thank everyone who makes these events possible. I also want to thank the people that gave me the encouraging words last week when it was my 1st time and I pretty much sucked. But most of all I want to thank Dave Ledford for riding with me during my second run and opening my eyes to just how hard I could push my car. Because of him I improved 11 seconds from 1st to last runs ( 68.680 seconds to 57.592 seconds), and in the end I was only 4 tenths of a second behind him. I had so much fun doing it. I can't wait until May 11th. :)
You actually did a lot better this time, lets see if 3rd time is the charm

^^^Budski, did some of my ride-along advice helped on the last run?

Hmm, I was planning on doing something for Rachel for her first Mother's Day and skipping that event...maybe I can convince her to compete instead. Anyone wanna babysit Rohan while she and I are competing? As for the event, thanks to everyone for getting the event to run pretty smoothly despite the weather.

Chicken Little, the television weather man said: "...and for Mother's Day, rain early, then strong wind, and it will be anything but warm". He ended his little segment saying: "A high of only 58 degrees."

bschnard:Well 58 degrees is a lot better than we had it for event #2 so what the heck. Besides with the high winds you can have an excuse when a cone tips over. It could make for some interesting scoring.
I don't mind rain and being chilly, every so often, but this is a consistent state of being. I drive well on a wet surface, and the maker of my car started out making battleships for the Japanese navy, but it doesn't help that the sun comes out and drys up all the course after my heat, so the other two thirds of the field drives on dry pavement and my index score takes a dive (and I look that much worse by comparison looking down the list). I wouldn't mind a nice, warm, sunny day every so often. Where's all this global warming? Well, it's 52 degrees and the rain is falling horizontally, so it must be time to go race... I might hit fourth or fifth gear going the direction the wind is blowing, but probably won't be able to complete the course if it turns back into the wind...

At least you don't have an STi wing catching all that wind. You want a cheap ride back to St. Louis today? Hook your car up to a gaggle of STi's before they caught a gust and flew away.
