took around 20 minutes per spacer (minus a mistake) and $8 worth of material for enough material to make about 10 spacers. hole sawed the center hole, drilled the stud holes, and bandsawed the perimeter. easy. kind of a cool project, but obviously only one I would do when there aren't off the shelf spacers that meet my needs.
