A 225/45/16, RE-11, might be the one thing that would pry me away from my Dunlop Star Specs.

I too am interested to see how the Re-11's turn out, although i have heard that they have softer sidewalls than the Re-01R's do.

    Re: Toyo>Bridgestone?

Any updates on the 225-45-15 Toyo?

I tried cold calling a bunch of numbers from the Toyo website. I eventually talked to someone named Rob that worked in Marketing (this is from calling the number listed on Toyo's website for sponsorship). He told me he'd check and call me back. He advised me they would be available August or September.

Does anyone have the 195/50/15 RE-01Rs in stock? I am running 15x7s and don't want to run 205/50/15 Falken 615s any longer... .

National back-order. Been that way for weeks. 1200 tires coming in late June/early July, is the latest word.

    Re: Toyo>Bridgestone?

Well, for the first time this season, I'll be back on some Bridgestones. The Toyos are just melting in this 90* heat. They won't cut it for the summer. I hope I'm not dissapointed.

Matt, we ran the CRX on Bridgestones last week at Grissom in 85deg heat and barely sprayed the front tires. They were fantastic.(Of course, I have yet to try the Toyos in comparison)

You guys were running it like it was a single-driver car, right?

Yes. Also, we didn't spray the tires on the Miata at all.

Yeah, I drove on those stones nearly all of last year. They're pretty good.

Re: Kumho XS ... Where is it?

For a tire due out in a few days (August, according to Tire Rack), there is a glaring lack of information.

What sizes will be available, what are some specific details about it's construction and what is it

supposed to be capable of? Will it be good in the heat as the Dunlops are, or melt like the Toyos?

I've done searches everywhere, and have found no typical introductory materal or information; just

that it is "due out". Even the Kumho site mentions nothing.

Jason I. has not shared "insider information" as he has been able to do in the past.

Makes me wonder if there are problems or delays with this tire.

Anyone see or hear anything new?

    Thx.

EDIT: Just now rechecked Kumho Site and found this info:

Re: Kumho XS ... Where is it?

Their graph that compares the tires is terrible. It indicates that the XS performs worse than the MX and cost's more. While that may or may not be true, if it is, no thanks.

Re: Kumho XS ... Where is it?

With a Y speed rating, the tire delivers an optimum run temperature of 205 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wow, optimum run temperatures of 205 degrees. I wonder how much truth that holds...

What are considered optimal run temps on on the Bridgestone and Dunlop offerings?

mmm -> 295/35-17, nice to see wider 25" o.d. sizes!!

Also, since this seems to be the defacto ST* tire thread, any updates on the 225/45-15 R1R?

Looking at the graph it appears that the XS performance level is bewtween the V710's and the MX's.

Re: Kumho XS ... Where is it?

I agree with Matt, the graphic sucks. I think what they are tyring to say is on a scale the higher you go up the list the better the performance, but how these graphics are suppose to work is the exact location of the item in question (i.e. where the word XS is located on the graph) is where the data is suppose to be represented. So, applying the that theory that Matt is, the XS costs more, but us further to the right on the preformance scale than the MX's. The same applies to the V710's vs the V700's. It appears as represented that the V710s cost more and have less performance potential than the V700s. Which everyone knows is false. As someone that uses these style graphics regularly, this is just very poorly executed.

Re: Kumho XS ... Where is it?

I was hoping for another 255/50/17 or 255/45/17 as the MX had; my V-6 Mustang really, really needs a larger size in the 17" diameter so I can get more rubber on the road (yes, street tire classing). The 245/45/17's that I have to run now are in fact simply too short for optimum performance, but mostly too narrow.......Crying

The factory stock 235/55/17 tire had a 27.1" diameter, and the 245/45/17 that I run now (Dunlops) are about 25.7". I do not want to go lower in diameter, which I'd have to do for more width (like a 255/40/17) or such.Rollseyes

    Damn........ Super Angry
