    Grissom event this weekend.

Raleigh, Velma, Marshall and I are going to be at Grissom on Saturday to do some work on the site and do course set up for Sundays event and also set up some of the National Tour course to check for bumps and to make sure cars are not passing too close to eachother like they did last weekend. We could use just a bit of help. If any of you don't mind coming up to Grissom on Saturday at about noon, we would greatly appreciate the help. Please let me know if you can make it. Email me at geoffchambers at comcast dot net.

    Thanks in advance!

I will get there as early as I can Sunday. I am the kart steward for this event. We plan on leaving Bloomington around 4:30 am.

Sorry, I can't help out, Geoff. I won't even be able to go if I don't finally finish up my floors Saturday. I was supposed to finish last Sunday, but I negotiated a return for day2 with the promise they would be done before the next event...

Is this event going to be a 2 course event? We had said all Grissoms would be like that this year - is that still the plan? And then, will I need 2 courses for the event I am designing? I am planning a lane change like Brian's national tour course last year, but I may want to switch that section up for a 2nd course.

I'm not certain that we are doing the two course format yet. We had discussed doing this for all the Grissom events but I don't know if it's a go for this weekend yet. I'll know tomorrow when I talk with Raleigh. I think it depends a lot on how many show up for the event.

Last years 2 course Grissom event was a blast and a huge success! It would be sweet if we could do it again! Come on, can we? Pretty please?

Nice work everyone.  117 cars got 5 runs.

I really liked having the hot dogs and soda, it was great.

Great fun, and I too enjoyed the dogs (3) and drinks (4).  The course was great, another top notch course by Raleigh.  I was bumed at first with not having the MR2 there, but quickly forgot all about that by having a blast with people I really enjoy spending a Sunday in the sun pushing cars to the max.  Great to see Joel in his new Mini, and Scott Dales.  If you missed the move Scott put in on turn 1 on his last run to win SMS, you missed a great one, awesome!  Nice to see Steve Linn lose to both of his kids!  Bob Miller kickin' butt in his Swift, that dude can drive!  How about Leo hopping in Raleigh's car & putting up a great time.

It doesn't matter what I drive, it's just a great time with great people.

Watch out for possibly more entries of the Barbie Works Beetle this year.

Great event!  I had one of my worst days, but I still had a blast.  I changed so many things that I'm not even where to start looking....I'm guessing somewhere in the driver's seat!  I got my dad back out there and he had a blast as well.  He friggin beat me on his first time in my car and first event in over a year.  It was a LONG ride home ha ha.

My only suggestion, angle the cars in grid for the tour.  Grid was really tight and the poor guy next to me in the Mazda couldn't open his door to get out of his car.  I liked the layout though.

Good input. We are changing a few things before the Tour. That is on the top of Raleigh's list of things to change.

....and a portalet in grid. Wink Any pre-run "weight reduction" is sorely needed.

    Re: Grissom event this weekend.

Great Course!  This was teh first time I was afraid I was going to run out of second gear at the end of the slalom before the sweeper (tiny cars rock for slaloms).  Course was long, fast and fun. Grid worked well, a little tight, but I'm sure it can be tweaked enough to work fine.

Long day, too tired to stick around for the car's first win.  Besides, wife had dinner waiting for me!

    Re: Grissom event this weekend.

I loved the course as well...and like Bob, I was kissing the rev limiter in second with the Saturn in a couple spots (slalom, back half of the course).

Sadly, something is very not right with it now.  It had developed a not-so-healthy top end tick after my second run. Sad  Gotta get it healthy in time for NT. Super Angry
