May 9-10 autocross: Columbus Air Force Base

    Autocross Points Events
    May 9-10, 2009
Columbus Air Force Base, Columbus MS

We have an event approaching rapidly, to be held May 9 and 10 at Columbus Air Force Base. Like always, in order to be allowed on base you must submit a complete and valid Base Access Form by emailing your completed form to msscca@gmail.com no later than NOON on SUNDAY MAY 3.

Please take note: If your form is incomplete I will simply return it to you and ask you to correct it. Pay attention to the instructions on how to fill out the form, including the format that your data should be in. If you have friends who want to come and you can't get their info, leave them off of your list. You may always submit a amended list later (or better yet, just submit an entirely new list with just the new people on it).

So triple-check your form and if you're wise, send it in early so you have time to make any corrections if necessary

About a half dozen of us Coasties are planning on coming.  so get your war face on and prepare for the swarm of buzzing miatas.

Can't wait to run a 70+ second 3rd gear course.  (hint, hint, course designer)

Wow, did anyone else just realize that the 9th and 10th are going to be Mother's Day weekend?

Re: May 9-10 autocross: Columbus Air Force Base

Mothers Day May 9/10? Well, actually I did consider the Mothers Day date conflict when I put together the 2009 schedule back in December.

But: I also considered: the interests of our various members in SCCA activities other than regional A/X:

    SO:

Most folks could at least make Saturday's event at CAFB

CAFB will be pretty much shut down that weekend

No Miss State baseball that weekend - meaning motel rooms for those of us who don't live in Starkville/Columbus

3 weekends after the MidDiv Solo event at Blytheville

2 weekends before the PDX high speed event at Memphis

3 weekends before the Solo Tour in Blytheville

4 weekends before the ProSolo in Blytheville

the list goes on - ----- with a little travel effort, we in MSSCCA could A/X, PDX, or race every weekend at this time of year.

I wasn't complaining as much as reminding others before they made plans to attend.  Thanks for the rationale though.

Please do not forget to submit your Base Access Form no later than NOON on Sunday May 3. I will be doing some traveling beginning Monday so it is imperative that I have all forms in on time to submit the list to base security.

Most folks stay at the Comfort Inn, I believe. Details can be found in the CAFB Supplemental Information.

Reminding everybody to send in base access forms ASAP!
